Clinical Supervision for Professionals

Clinical supervision is a reflective and relational space that supports experienced practitioners to remain ethically grounded, clinically engaged, and responsive to the complexity of their work. Beyond skill development, supervision offers a place to think deeply about therapeutic presence, responsibility, and the lived dynamics of clinical practice.

My approach is grounded in the existential-phenomenology approach, with supervision understood as a collaborative inquiry into the clinician’s experience of their work. Attention is given to what emerges in the therapeutic relationship without judgment and with respect for uncertainty and not-knowing.

I work with the Wheel of Supervision and other models as an integrative framework, allowing supervision to move fluidly between clinical practice, practitioner experience, ethical considerations, and broader professional contexts. This supports a holistic, flexible, and developmentally attuned supervisory process.

Supervision is offered as a thoughtful, contained space where experienced clinicians can reflect openly, sharpen clinical awareness, and sustain depth, integrity, and vitality in their practice.

Supervision Practice

I have been supervising for over 25 years to individuals and in groups in a range of professional settings and disciplines while training supervisors for almost 20 years.

Supervision is available:

  • Individual Supervision
  • Group Supervision
  • Supervision on Supervision
  • External Supervision to Organisations (individual and Teams)
  • Supervisor Training

Individual Supervision

Supervision offers a reflective space to explore the intersubjective and relational dimensions of your work with clients. Together, we establish a clear supervisory contract that considers your experience, clinical context, theoretical orientation, and professional needs. From this foundation, supervision is tailored to support depth, clarity, and the ongoing development of your unique therapeutic presence, helping you bring the best of yourself to your clinical work.

Group and Team Supervision

Group Supervision is cost-effective, challenging and engaging while lending itself to creative supervision. It can offer a platform for increased knowledge, sharing of theory, ideas, and ways of working with clients. It can expand your expertise, skills, and awareness of working from different approaches.

Group supervision provides support and the opportunity to widen your professional view of the therapeutic approach to working with clients while developing your sense of self as the therapist. I incorporate and apply my experience of group to the supervisory process.

Supervision on Supervision

Supervision for experienced supervisors is a collegial, reflective space to think deeply about responsibility, authority, and ethical presence in the work. It offers an opportunity to examine how power, uncertainty, and relational dynamics are lived and embodied within the supervisory role, while sustaining clinical clarity, depth, and integrity. This form of supervision supports experienced supervisors to remain grounded, thoughtful, and responsive as they continue to accompany others in complex clinical practice.

External Supervision to Organisations

An external supervisor offers a contained, independent space that supports both clinicians and organisations. For supervisees, external supervision allows for open reflection, clinical depth, and ethical clarity without organisational role pressures. For organisations, it strengthens clinical governance, supports staff wellbeing and retention, and promotes reflective, accountable practice—contributing to a healthier, more thoughtful clinical culture overall.

Supervisor Training

As one of the Directors and Trainers of the Centre for Existential Practice, supervisor training is available on the Clinical Supervisor Training – Wheel of Supervision Program. More information can be found here. Our courses meet PACFA and AAOS standards for registration and we have been providing training for almost 20 years.
